Mongolia_golf_tourism_presentationSky Resort LLC – a company that operates first international standard ski resort in Mongolia held a Golf Tourism presentation for Mongolian travel industry today.

Sky Resort LLC launched testing operations of its Mt.Bogd Golf Course at its ski resort last year after completing construction works that started back in 2008. During the presentation made by the Sky Resort’s CEO Batsuuri Amarkhuu and Tourism Manager Amardush Dorj technical information about GC were provided and cooperation opportunities discussed.

The Mt.Bogd Golf Course, nestled against the imposing backdrop of the Bogd Khaan mountain range in the outskirts of Ulaanbaatar, is a 6443 meters (7046 yards) – 18-hole par 72 championship layout. Spread over 500 hectares of windswept valley, this Scottish links style golf course is product of 5-year cooperation between MCS Group – a leading Mongolian privately-owned group of companies, and Golfplan USA – golf course architects known in the Asia-Pacific region for creating such gems as Tanah Mera GC and Sentosa GC (Serapong course) in Singapore, the Club at Nine Bridges GC in Jeju Island, Saujana G&CC in Malaysia, Bonari Kogen GC in Japan and many others.

Rough yet subtle beauty of the surrounding nature is skillfully augmented by gently rolling Kentucky bluegrass fairways, fast T1 bentgrass greens and generous bunkering. Golden hues of native tundra fescues and large boulders give the golf course its distinct natural and very Mongolian look. In fact, the golf course blends so well with the nature and looks so "in place" in this valley.

The company looks forward to welcoming golfers not only from Asia-Pacific region but from other parts of the world too. Nowhere in Asia will golfers enjoy more Scottish link golf experience than in Mongolia

Summer to early autumn is perfect time to enjoy this GC. Almost 17 hours of summer daylight combined with fully grassed practice facilities and perfectly manicured fairways and greens will make a wonderful golf getaway.
The Golf course will be officially opened on 22nd of June, 2013.
