Russian tourist and Mongolia workshop

Putin_visit_MongoliaDuring the Russian President Putin’s official visit to Mongolia on September 03, 2014, the governments of two countries have signed 15 various documents including various Inter-governmental agreements, Memorandums of Understanding and Protocols.

One of the documents signed was the Intergovernmental Agreement on reciprocal visa-free travel between citizens of the two countries and which will be in effect from November 14, 2014.

Under the agreement, the nationals of both countries can enjoy a visa-free stay in Russia or Mongolia for 30 days in a row. The total period of stay should not exceed two months within 180 days.

Due to commencement date coming soon, the Ulaanbaatar City Administration in conjunction with affiliated institutions is going to organize a workshop themed “Russian Tourists and Ulaanbaatar” at the Khangarid Palace on November 07, 2014.

The meeting will bring together representatives across the sectors - tour companies, hotels, restaurants, commercial centers, hospitalities, therapy and recreation centers as well as cultural and art organizations interested to welcome Russian travelers, and will focus and given advices by experts on Russian tourists; behavior and interests, their service, shopping, sightseeing and food preferences.

Moreover, as part of preparations, a website for Russian tourists will be launched soon, besides printing of travel brochures, Russian-Mongolian conversation handbook and guides. Also, in order to attract more Russian travelers, a TV series about Ulaanbaatar and Mongolia will be broadcasted on main TV channels of nearby Russian towns of Irkutsk, Ulan-Ude and Chita.
