Tokyo-Ulaanbaatar flights might increase to everyday.

Tokyo-Ulaanbaatar-flight-increaseThe State Secretary of the Ministry of Road and Transport of Mongolia Batzaya Baasandorj met with the Director Air Talks Office, Civil Aviation Bureau, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Tourism of Japan Taro Kobayashi to discuss the opportunities to expand the bilateral air service during working visit of Mongolian delegation to Japan on November 20-21, 2013.

 

Talks have yielded in possible increase of flight frequency. Currently, MIAT Mongolian Airlines has slots to perform 5 flights a week by its narrow-body Boeing 737-800. This number was increased to seven flights a week and aircraft restrictions are now limited to more high capacity wide-body Boeing 767.

Another important result of the talks were to increase the points of flight destinations and the possibility of code-share regulations in order to increase the flights and further liberalization of air service between two countries due to the new international airport of Ulaanbaatar expected to commence its operation in 2016.
