The Government of Mongolia has drafter a bill to build a casino in Mongolia. Although details of the proposals are kept out of the public, it became known that the casino is proposed to be built at the new international airport in Khushigt valley near Ulaanbaatar.
After about a month after leaving former Prime Minister - Altankhuyag Norov, the new PM Saikhanbileg reformed the government structure and has made nominations for cabinet positions.
The former Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism has now been splitted and were integrated into other ministries. Thus, the tourism will be now the responsibility of the newly formed Ministry of Environment, Green Development and Tourism to be led by Mrs. Oyunkhorol Dulamsuren who replaces the previous Minister of Culture, Sport and Tourism Oyungerel Tsedevdamba.
The Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage met in Paris November 24 – 28, 2014 to inscribe 16 new elements including Mongolian knuckle-bone shooting on The Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
In the line with the “Smart Ulaanbaatar” program approved in 2014 by the Citizens Representatives Council of Ulaanbaatar, the mayor of capital city Bat-Uul E. and Susan Pointer - Senior Director Public Policy & Govt. Relations Asia Pacific Middle East Africa Russia, Google Inc., have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Ulaanbaatar city administration and Google Inc.
Regular flights between Russian city of Ulan-Ude and Mongolian capital city of Ulaanbaatar might be resumed soon. Announcement of a such possibility was announced by the Head of Russian Buryat Repulic's - Vyacheslav Nagovitsyn during the official visit of Mongolian members of parliament to the republic in August 2014.
