Morin Khuur Tower will be built

The current museum building was shut down after the Mongolian General Authority of Specialized Inspection concluded in June, 2013 that the building cannot withstand earthquake and natural disasters and must be closed.

Number of foreign tourists drop in 2013

Mongolia_tourismAccording to the preliminary data by the National Statistics Office, the number of tourists fell by 12.1% compared to previous year. As of September, 2013 the number of foreign visitors Mongolia reached only 333,000 compared to previous year's 475,000.

Ulaanbaatar taxis to get traffic privileges

Ulaanbaatar_taxi_traffic_stopThe Urban Transport Center of Ulaanbaatar City allowed taxis that meet the official taxi standards such as designated taxi logo, top light box and taximeters to drive on first lane starting from October 1, 2013. Taxis, however, are still not allowed to pick up or drop off passengers on most main roads except at 13 designated areas built so far.

Ulaanbaatar City Tourism Board has signed an agreement with the Department of Geography and Geology of the National University of Mongolia as a part of its objective to develop Ulaanbaatar’s tourism based on proper academic research and knowledge.

Chinese Culture Minister visits Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar taxi fares will rise NOT
